fill your lens, fill your life

Sometimes, when we take close-up photographs, it's great to really fill the lens with the subject matter, fill it up with whatever you're looking at. Don't let what's beside it, behind it, above it, below it, interfere. And so it is with life - focus on what we want and need, and then fill our lives with just that. Don't focus on what you don't want, focus on what you do want. (I'm loving these photographic analogies!)

anemone

Flower5252Here's a shot I took a couple of weeks ago. It's an anemone, taken with my new macro (up close and personal) lens. It gloriously illustrates the importance of REALLY looking, really taking the trouble to get beyond first impressions. If you click on the image a bigger one will open in a new window and you'll see the amazing inner workings of this little gem. Would you have believed it possible that a simple flower, albeit it a lovely one, could have something so sumptuously beautiful at its heart. Mmmm!
