a bargain
Back in the day we had prams and buggies - these days they have travel systems and strollers. I've commented before on the strange way that babies 'stuff' gets bigger and bigger, so am delighted that we've managed to find a 'travel system' that actually folds down quite small is only (!) 10 kg and can be both a pram and a pushchair.
Our 'about to pop' friend took my daughter and me on a fact-finding mission to Mothercare and Mamas and Papas. In fact she's already done the research and I know her well enough to be sure that whatever system she'd chosen would be the one that would suit M too. So, no surprises when we happened on the M & P's Pliko Pramette. It does the job beautifully, but is somewhat beyond the means of my grandson's mummy; in truth it's somewhat beyond the means of his granny. But where there's a will ...
That every evening on ebay I found a 'scarcely used' Pliko Pramette, in an acceptable colour (on grounds of good taste ;) we have to avoid anything too garish, so the nice Petrol colour was perfect). Of course when I spotted it the pram was still under £100. The auction was due to finish in a couple of hours so I glued myself to my pc and kept an eye on things. As the closing time approached and I cranked up my bid I realised that I wasn't even to get to the reserve price so gave up even though mine was the highest bid.
To my great excitement within a short time of the auction finishing I had an email to say 'even though we didn't reach the reserve, we'll accept your price'. Fantastic - so in the end I got the right pram at about 1/2 price. A few days later we drove the 20+ miles to pick it up and discovered to our joy that it is absolutely perfect.
